The one cookie we use

Name	What it does	How long
`sgw_reader`	Remembers that you’ve subscribed, or arrived from one of our emails, so we don’t ask you to subscribe again. Contains no personal information.	400 days

It’s set only after you subscribe or click through from our newsletter, it’s used only on sidegigwire.com, and it’s never shared. It’s strictly functional, which is why we don’t show a cookie banner.

What we don’t use

No advertising cookies, no analytics or tracking pixels, no social media trackers. If that ever changes, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Turning it off

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, we’ll simply ask you to subscribe again when you reach the end of an article’s free preview; entering the address you’re already subscribed with lets you carry on reading.
