How we work

Editorial policy

The standards every article and newsletter issue is held to.

Accuracy and sources

Every fact that matters (a fee, a pay figure, a tax rule, a date) is checked against a primary source wherever one exists: the platform’s own help and fee pages, IRS and FTC guidance, laws and official data. We link our sources at the end of each article so you can check them. When sources conflict or we can’t verify a number, we say so, or leave the number out.

No income claims

We don’t tell readers what they’ll earn. Pay depends on where you live, when you work, the platform, and much more. When we show an example calculation, we label it as an example and explain the method so you can use your own numbers.

Sponsored content and our own products

Sponsored posts and placements are labelled “Sponsored” or “Sponsor” wherever they appear, including in the newsletter and in our RSS feed. Our publisher, Byte Foundry, also makes SendingRight; when an article mentions it, the article says so. Sponsors never decide what our news and guides say about a platform. See our disclosures.

Money, tax and legal topics

We explain how the rules work in general. We don’t give personal financial, tax or legal advice, and every article on those topics says so and points to qualified help.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and add a note at the end of the article saying what changed and when. To report an error, email editors@sidegigwire.com.

Updates

Fees and rules change. Articles show the date they were last updated, and we review our guides regularly.
